Fundraiser!

So every year I participate in the 'Revlon walk for Women's Cancer' here in Los Angeles.  I have 2 legs and an amazing life.  Time to round up the troops and WALK to raise money for cancer research. I had to motivate the troops at the office and get everyone to help raise money... and drag their booties out of bed on time.

The amazing thing was that this event was the same evening 'Pretty Hurts' originally premiered on LOGOtv.  Looking back on that day it was one that was filled with amazing effort on the part of everyone at the office.  We are all incredibly busy at our jobs and were also preparing to have our lives splashed across national TV-  but we came together as a group and really worked to make a difference.

I hope that you have a charity or two that you you support.  It's amazing to help others out and it's good for the world.  Teach your kids to give often and expect nothing in return; set this example for you children and others that are around you.

Episode 5 "Pretty Hurts" Time Hurts - dedicated to Rand Rusher ....

So this episode was a HANDFUL ... more specifically let me say the fight in the lobby between that pushy lady and the aussie guy was uncalled for. We don't take walk-in's at our office and that lady was so ...  #@%&%^*%$^%#**>  (insert what ever you like here)

You catch most of her pushy attitude on the episode ... what you don't catch is when that Aussie guy ("I wanna look like a shiny man doll") starts picking on her.  He actually called her names ... things that were not very nice.  I can't believe that they didn't show that on TV. Maybe they couldn't - I did have to scold them like children. It was very weird. Any way - Rand, if you are reading this ... I can't believe that you actually injected that walk in patient!  Next time - the gate keeper will keep the animals in the zoo in their separate cages!

Then of course we move onto Vivicca - who is hysterical and funny but again Rand if you are reading this ... poke them 1st and then talk! I am spending what I feel is like 25% of my life click-clacking my heels outside your door to get you moving!

Any ways - we also got to see Pam. The housewife with AMAZING jewelry.  We've know Pam for years and she is just so much fun. She is beautiful inside and out.  Maybe a little bit of it is Rand's help - but he keeps her in check.  Just like he said to her "You don't always need the things you want."

Rand is pretty smart ... that quote can be translated to a lot of thing in life.

"You don't always need the things you want."

Try telling that to the panicking actress I talked to on the phone on Friday...

Ok so I'm a little behind ....

Ok so when I was a kid I was a procrastinator when it came to things I should do for myself.  So ... It should not surprise you that I am behind on my blog, and that I am going to blog about something super "Hollywood" instead of the show today!  I'll come back to the show soon ... but for now. Red Carpet time!


So the cast of 'Pretty Hurts' was asked to attend this A-M-A-Z-I-N-G event on the Paramount lot.  It was the 6th annual "Life Out Loud" event to raise funds for Lifeworks.  This party is billed as "Pride Season's Hottest Party" ... AND it supports the LGBT Youth of Los Angeles.  


So we get to the event and right away as we are walking up I hear someone chanting my name "Elizabeth!... Elizabeth!" I look up and Ahhhhhh it's the red carpet coordinator - My new best friend!  The red carpet was amazing and I only stumbled a wee bit; not in the literal sense ... really just tripping over my own tongue.  

Mix and Mingle at a celeb-filled, cocktail party with music, food, and a silent auction at Hollywood’s famed Paramount Studios NYC Streets. So there was mixing and mingling ... I guess I am maybe a mini-celeb?  Even if I'm not - I tried to dress like one!  Do you LOVE the dress?  Dolce & Gabanna honey! The flying nuns said I had a fantastic body .. who doesn't love it when the people dressed up to entertain love you!   At the event they were honoring 2 extraordinary young people for their positive impact  - Mike C. Manning, Real World D.C. and Human Rights Activist - Zach Wahls, The Youtube Phenom who addressed the Iowa State Legislature in support of his 2 moms and Gay Marriage Here I am with Korbin and Mike Manning! He was so amazing and his mom was also there to see him accept this award.   She was front and center and so proud and emotional.  I love supportive parents!   From there we tooled around bidding on amazing silent auction items, noshing and drinking.  I didn't win any of the items I bid on.  Always outbid!  We headed over to the Lexus photo booth ... what do you think of this photo?  Looks like a Lexus ad doesn't it? After enjoying the lexus photobooth and the Lexus Lounge, We took part in the Barbie Collector Experience (gooo Red Head Barbie!), and enjoyed a special performance by Cortés Alexander (Liza at the Palace, The Tonics). I must say that Cortez is an amazing singer and person! He was so sweet to come down and talk and take a photo with me!  It was all in all an amazing evening.  I am so happy to be there representing 'Pretty Hurts' but more important lending support for the Lifeworks program! LifeWorks is a youth development and mentoring program at the LA Gay & Lesbian Center in Los Angeles. They offer one on one, peer, and group mentoring opportunities for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning youth ages 12-24. Our goal is to help LGBTQ youth to realize their goals and dreams with a safe space, positive and affirming role models, and workshops & activities that are fun and educational. "Pretty Hurts" Episode 2 - Birthdays Hurt. Part 1: Janice!

Wasn't Episode 2 of Pretty Hurts even better than episode 1?

Sooooo much fun!  Raven came to the office ... She was just about the funniest lady in and out of a wig!  Maybe some day you will catch the B-roll where Raven EMBARRASSES the daylights out of out Polish Princess Maya! I have never seen Maya clam up so quickly after Raven commented on her weekend activities :O

And of course there is the lovely and wacky Janice Dickenson. That gal is a riot and a half! Rand did such a great job on her injections ... helped to soften and plump her up! Check out a few of our behind the scenes photos below.

Here I am with Janice! Since this is a Reality Show we never know who is actually walking through the door. She was super excited to be seeing Rand and obviously really liked what he did. We love making people happy! 

Here is another picture with Korbin from our office! You haven't met Korbin formally in any of the episodes .... but you see him there!  He's at both Rand's birthday and the book signing. Keep your eyes peeled for Korbin!

Here Janice is getting her make-up touched up by the amazing Cynthia Roman. She is a fantastic make-up artist that Pretty Hurts work with. She did my make-up for the NewNowNext awards!  Look at my earlier blog if you haven't seen my hot photos yet!

"Pretty Hurts" Episode 1: Mr Fix it

Did you enjoy the premiere of 'Pretty Hurts'?  Are you ready to get a little sneak peek behind-the-scenes? Every week I will post some behind-the-scene photos and commentary about the episode that has just aired!

Episode 1 - "Mr Fix It"

Well, the title of this one really did come from that article in W Magazine.  Rand was voted Beverly Hills' "Mr. Fix It". Rand enjoys helping people look and feel better about themselves.

Our first day of shooting, we really didn't know what to expect.  This is from my notes about the 1st day:

"It's our first day here and I am nervous!  Not really sure what to expect today.  But I know that everything is going to be great - I'm doing my job! How hard can that be? Very excited! We aren't actors - we are a real "work family."  We've know each other for over 5 years and I can say that I am happy to be here on this adventure with some of the people I care about the most."


Wow - thinking back to that first day is amazing!  We all reported for our call time ... some of us on time and some of us not so much!  You, my dear Prettys, will soon enough find out who was not on time! As I walked into the office I had been in for years, I never realized HOW big the production for TV it is!  People everywhere crammed in our office; at least 25 crew in all. They set themselves up to be out of the way of our daily life as much as possible.

It was amazing that Jeana Keough was one of the patients we saw that first day!  I love the 'Real Housewives of Orange County' and was so happy to see both Jeana and her daughter coming in together. It's always great to see women come and support each other in these types of situations; regardless if they are mothers and daughters, sisters or friends. Women, you should support your friends who may want a little freezer or filler. Don't be hatin'!

So I hope to have some fun photos and videos to share throughout; I have a few photos from the shooting of the opening sequence; here's the one from the opening sequence where you are looking down Rodeo Drive: this was shot on Via Rodeo very early in the morning.

You can see the 2 gals on the bench from the opening sequence talking to Gary Auerbach - Executive Producer and head of Go Go Luckey Productions.  Rand is in the background awaiting direction from Gary.

Here, Gary is either doing a walrus impression or he is telling Rand to smile a bit more!

New Now Next Awards!

Hello Hello my Prettys!

Here I am at the #NNNAward Spectacular!

I must say we were more than thrilled when part of the cast of 'Pretty Hurts' was invited to LOGO's 4th Annual New Now Next Awards!  It was a day of fun, glamor, and virgin red carpet experiences!

Here is my photo diary of the evening ... have fun following us!

We started off with a fantastic toast to 'Pretty Hurts', to work and to friendship! A shot of Gran Patron Platinum! We were dolled up ... we drank up ... we were out the door as the car arrived to pick us up for the show!

Rand up in front of course ... me (bitch in the middle!) with Curt and Tom. The car ride over was quick ... butterflies in our tummys as we rounded the corner and pulled up to the Avalon Hotel in Hollywood!

Woah ... Why I thought there would just be a few people there to take our photos shows that I am somewhat new to this. There were TONS of cameras! Everyone wanting us to turn their way and to talk to them!  (Shoulder back ... don't trip ... smile ... don't let boobs pop out; need to save that for season 3- whew!)

 We did several interviews - I'll post a few of those as we go along over the next few days! How fun!

 She was so sweet to pose for a photo with me.  I should have asked to touch her 'Nextie'!

Angry Birds were there and they looked pretty happy sitting there with me.  I can turn the angry birds into happy birds with one smile!

Perez Hilton and Paula Abdul up on stage.... Perez snuck off before I could corner him to ask him if Lady Gaga's people provided the headgear for him or not.  It was a fantastic tribute-esque piece!

Ah, the ever-so-radiant Raven who appears in Season 1 of 'Pretty Hurts'.  Rand is snuggled in there with her and Manilla from Season 3 of 'RuPaul's DragRace' (I love Manilla!)

The boys with Tabitha Coffey ... She won 'Most Addictive Reality Star!'  Let's cross our fingers that next year one of the Cast of PH will be one of the nominees!
